It was a clash between two promotion chasers and although Bury started the game on the front foot it was Mick McGraa’s side who went into half time in the lead after Marcus James and Conor Harwood struck.
A strong battling second half ensured that The Motormen finished top of the NWCFL Premier as we enter the business end of the season.
Squires Gate provide the next test, they have won 10 of their 23 home games this season and will be looking to get their own back after they were beaten 3-1 in Ellesmere Port in September.
Forward Jake Parker, unfortunate not to have got his name on Tuesday night’s scoresheet as the referee deemed his effort to not have crossed the line, had a great performance against Bury AFC thus you can expect to see him in action.
