Avro v Vauxhall Motors FC
Match Preview
NWCFL Premier Division
Saturday April 15th 2023
After clinching the NWCFL Premier Division Title with a 4-1 win at home to AFC Liverpool, Vauxhall Motors are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Avro.
The Motormen started strongly on Easter Monday and would open the scoreline when Conor Harwood netted with a diving header from Michael Burkey’s cross, Burkey edged his side back in front just before half time with a goal straight from a corner.
Extending the lead, Burkey scored his second with a powerful shot from the edge of the area before Jake Parker struck.
As news trickled through The VanEupen Arena of a goal for Wythenshawe against Bury AFC, celebrations were sparked as Vauxhall were crowned Champions and will be playing in the Northern Premier League Division One West next season.
However, Mick McGraa will not let his side relax and fellow promotion chasers Avro will provide a good test at the Vestacare Stadium this weekend.
