Vauxhall Motors will look to challenge Wythenshawe Town’s position at the top of the NWCFL Premier table when they travel to Ericstan Park on Tuesday night.
The Motormen have failed to play a league game since Boxing Day’s 4-2 defeat to AFC Liverpool as fixtures against Bury AFC and Winsford United have been postponed.
Vauxhall Motors visited the Barton Stadium to face Winsford on Saturday afternoon but the game was later abandoned due to a floodlight failure just minutes before kick off.
Wythenshawe, who were formed in 1946 and finished 3rd last season, beat Ashton Athletic 5-0 on Saturday with two braces from Veron Parry and Darius Palma before Matthew Bryan added the fifth.
The last meeting between the two clubs resulted in a goalless draw on October 1st at The VanEupen Arena thus a win for Mick McGraa’s men this time around could prove crucial in their search for promotion.
Vauxhalls could go two points clear at the top with a game in hand should they complete a victory on Saturday afternoon, however Town could go outright top, no matter the result in Vauxhalls’ game in hand.
