The Vauxhall Tigras are the youngest all girls team to begin playing at Vauxhalls, and we are excited to watch them develop as they progress through the club.
The team began during the Wildcats sessions in Summer 19, many of the girls in the team have been with us since they started their football journey on a Sunday morning as part of the Wildcats development sessions. The team has grown in strength and numbers during the past year as more girls joined the team.
The team were the first of the Wildcats teams to join and play competitively in a league and took part in the Pensby League last season. This enabled them to develop as a team and individually, giving them opportunities to play against more established teams and other newer teams like themselves. The girls were able to find their ‘place’ on the pitch, with natural defenders and strikers finding their feet.
The team has an FA Qualified coach and are looking to expand this by introducing a new coach this season.
Individual and team development is at the core of all our training sessions, allowing the team to develop their own individual skills as well as those key to a successful team. The team supports providing training opportunities alongside game time, to hone and develop skills and techniques.
Expectations are high within the team and the girls show full commitment to their training and development and the club. This is supported by the members’ parents.
The team trains on Wednesday 6 – 7 pm at Vauxhalls FC as well as other training sessions throughout the season.
Due to the strength of the team towards the end of last season we would consider a second development team at this age group, which would be great for girls new to football or girls trying to develop competitively. We do not encourage players from other teams to join our team as we have a mutual respect for other teams, coaches and clubs.
The team is also very active outside the main season attending summer tournaments.
Contact for the team can be made via the main club email contact details which will be forwarded on.
