Following a draw at home to high-flying Wythenshawe Town, Mick McGraa’s Motors are back in action this Saturday afternoon as they travel to Kendal.

After twelve games played, Jimmy Marshall’s side are placed twelfth so although every game in the NWCFL Premier presents a challenge, Motors will be of the belief that they can return back to Ellesmere Port with all three points to build on their fantastic start to the campaign.

Kendal play at The Parkside Road Stadium and were formed in 1919 by workers from the K Shoes Netherfield factory. The Mintcakes play in Black and White striped shirts and their record attendance is 5,184 when they faced Grimsby Town in 1955.

Last season they were relegated from the Northern Premier League Division One West as they finished 19th and despite wanting to be higher up the table than they’re currently placed, Marshall’s side have players worthy of keeping an eye on this weekend.

Steven Yawson has netted five in fourteen whereas teammate Thomas Kilifin has netted six in eleven. Visiting keeper James McClenaghan will be looking to keep a clean sheet against his former side after signing for Motors in the Summer.

In McGraa’s interview following the draw against Wythenshawe, the boss spoke of how the squad is currently looking numbers wise “Ethan Gouldbourne’s back, Simon Thelwell’s back, Bobbie McDonnell’s back and so is Lewis Buckley which means that it’ll be tough for players to keep their shirts”.

Another honourable mention goes to skipper, Tom Mitchell, who could make his 150th Vauxhall Motors FC appearance on Saturday afternoon at Kendal.

Match tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £4 for OAP’s and £1 for U16’s. All support for Motors, as they aim to get back to winning ways, is appreciated thus they look forward to receiving your support in Cumbria.
