Motors look to get back to winning ways at Clitheroe

By Ethan Hoijord

Vauxhall Motors travel to Clitheroe on Saturday afternoon looking to get back to winning ways.

The Motormen’s first victory of 2024, against 1874 Northwich, was followed up by a 3-1 defeat to Avro on Tuesday night.

It was an abysmal first half at The VanEupen Arena as the Oldham-based side, who were also looking for their second win of the calendar year, went into the break having scored all three goals.

Joe Brandon got Danny Holmes’ side back into the game with a header at the back post. However, this wasn’t enough to spark a comeback as defender Jason Akiotu was dismissed late on.

Clitheroe will also be looking to get back on to the right track as they have lost both of their last two games, including a 3-0 thrashing at home to Witton Albion in midweek.

As always, your support is greatly appreciated thus we look forward to seeing you on the road!
