Vauxhall Motors continue their unbeaten run to 8 games with a goalless draw at home to
Longridge Town.

It was a slow start from both sides with little chances being created. However, it was the Motors
who looked more likely to score. Michael Burkey looked lively crossing into the box from the
left, but the balls failed to pick out in form striker, Bobbie McDonnell.

Half an hour into the game, things turned quite scrappy. Poor challenges were made by the
home side, one of which ended with the Motors boss Mick McGraa on the floor. Haydn Cooper
the player involved on the touchline.

Vauxhall managed to carve out a rare chance. Working the ball up the field, switching from left
to right, Jordan Deer at the centre of the move. Adam Smith received the ball after Arrowsmith
mistimed his jump. Aspinall made a smart save at the near post.

It finished level at the break, both teams yet to score. Although, the hosts looked far more
dangerous than the visitors.

Half time substitution took place for the visitors, Paul Turner made his way for Kian Makepeace.
Despite the change, it was the Motors who got the first shot in the second half McDonnell
finding Aspinall’s gloves.

Longridge soon made a second change as Curtis Poole came on to replace Jack Arrowsmith.
The motors had two good penalty shouts, both turned away by the referee Daniel Taylor. The
first for a soft handball from the visitors, which the ball fell to McDonnell. The keeper attempted
to claim the ball at his feet but the forward was taken out.

The Motors would go on to make a couple of changes, Francis Antoine and Jamie Eaton replaced
Burkey and Deer.

Vauxhall searched for a late winner as the home side finished the game stronger. Threatening
shots from McDonnell, Cooper and Antonie were all saved by the visiting keeper. The match
would go on to end goalless, ending Vauxhall’s winning run, but still unbeaten in the league.

Vauxhall travel to Litherland Remyca on Wednesday night, hoping to get back to winning ways.
