Vauxhall Motors 1-0 Ashton Athletic

Vauxhall edged out a one nil victory over Aston Athletic, the goal coming from captain Thomas Mitchell.
An early chance for the Motors, a loose pass by the visitors defence saw new signing, Conor Harwood, latch onto it and run through on goal. The forward takes a touch too wide and smashed his effort onto the post.
New signing Harwood involved again for the hosts. He managed to wiggle his way past his markers and released the ball to Jordan Deer. Harwood continued his run to goal, but the keeper smothers the ball at his feet. Everyone waited for an offside which never came.
Another chance for Vauxhall, Michael Burkey with a great ball into the box. Ben Holmes got on the end of it but could not generate enough power to beat the keeper.
After so many chances, Vauxhall have their goal. A corner into the box came to a crowded goal line, Thomas Mitchell risen highest to head it into the net.
Vauxhall got the first chance in the second half, Burkey cutting inside once again but straight into the arms of the keeper.
The visiting number 7, Nicholson, drove inside from out wide and James McClenaghan makes a smart save at his near post.
Shortly in the second, the home side made their first substitution, Ben Holmes being replaced by Aaron Dawson.
Vauxhall worked the corner short with Burkey on the end of it, his effort firing just wide of the post.
The visitors first changed of the night saw Schofield come on in place for Nicholson.
Vauxhall changes came shorty after, Harwood and Burkey being replaced by Eaton and Johnston.
Ashton Athletic made their final substitutions, Wilson and Rogers making way for Haddock and Conway.
A free kick was awarded on the edge of the box for the visitors, and a yellow is shown to Aaron Dawson for the foul. The ball ends you in the wall.
A penalty shout for the motors, Eaton does well to get goal side of Ako, which the defender took him out. The referee waved away the shouts by the hosts.
Lewis Buckley found himself in space within the box, he controlled the ball well and puts it into the net. The goal is ruled out for a handball by the striker.
The game ends with Vauxhall taking the points. The Motors face Emley on Saturday 3pm at the VanEupen Arena, in the Isuzu FA Vase.
