Vauxhall Motors got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Barnoldswick Town on Saturday afternoon.
A fast start to the game put Mick McGraa’s Motormen into the lead when Conor Harwood slotted home just before the twentieth minute mark.
Lewis Buckley went on a fantastic run before playing his teammate in, the effort perfectly struck.
The second came little less than ten minutes later through winger Michael Burkey when a dodgy back pass from keeper Jordan Gidley fell to Buckley who played the ball across.
Burkey cut inside with a fake shot and netted.
The visitors nearly got themselves back into the game when a volley from a free kick was fired over.
However, there was to be little action that truly threatened Motors stopper Ciaran O’Loughlin as Vauxhall maintained their place in second, a point away from table-toppers Avro.
The Motormen are next in action next Saturday at home to Charnock Richard.
