Motors Appoint McGraa

Vauxhall Motors are delighted to announce that Mike McGraa has been appointed as the Clubs new First Team Manager after leaving local Rivals Cammel Lairds.
Mike joins from Lairds and replaces Karl Bell who left the club prior to the final game of last season.
McGraa is a former motors player but has been a Lairds boy through and through and admits it was one of the hardest decisions he`d had to make to leave Lairds after such a terrific season which just fell short on winning promotion.
“It was a good season @ Lairds Just gone and was disappointing to come up just short. It was a hard decision, but I felt change was needed and with everything that is going on off the field it felt like a no brainer. The setup here is excellent and even for a Lairds boy through and through there is too much going on to not want to be a part of it.”
“The plan is to compete at the right end of the table. There`s a 2-year plan in place, that ultimately sees us promoted in that second season. The first year is about establishing the team, it’s a hard job but we need to build quality sides, both Firsts and Reserves with a professional approach in the way
we go about doing our jobs both on and off the field.”
Mikes first job will to be assemble a squad for next season and he is excited by the prospect of seeing old and new players at the club.
“At the end of the season the last 15 games we were the best team in that league, so it makes sense to bring people in who have that experience. We will be keeping some of the current squads and some of the young players who have been here for many years. We must make sure the environment is right for them to excel and be successful. The Disappointment and the hurt from just missing out last season is the driving force behind the desire to go one better this time round.”
“I will be bringing in my own team that I have worked with at Lairds, with the one addition of “Decca” who joins the team as Fitness Coach from Connahs Quay.”
We are very well prepared off the field.
