Motors gain 3 points against Nantwich

By Ethan Hoijord

Vauxhall Motors beat Nantwich Town 3-1 at the VanEupen Arena, on Saturday afternoon.

‪It was a brilliant display by Danny Holmes’ side as they looked to produce a performance that inspired future confidence having lost three of their past four games.

Winger, Bisensio Kamilo, was the man to watch for the Motormen, being called up from the Reserve squad for the game on Saturday.

Striker Connor Harwood edged the Motormen in front on the ninth minute mark, after a great start by the hosts, as he pounced on a mistake by Nantwich keeper Danny Roberts.

However, the visitors would soon draw themselves level as forward Joe Piggott struck.

There was action at both ends as the even scoreline, at that stage, suggested. Harwood came close to netting his second as he hit the post before Motors keeper Ally Hughes was called into action, saving a header.

Harwood did regain Vauxhall’s lead though, as he headed in a corner from Jordan Deer at the front post before the whistle blew for half time.

After the break Lewis Willingham extended the hosts scoreline, with his first strike since his recent return to Ellesmere Port.

The visitors believed that they had a chance to get back into the game as they put the ball into the back of the net. However, the assistant referee’s flag was raised to ensure that all three points were collected by Holmes’ men.

Vauxhall Motors are back in action next weekend as they travel to Witton Albion whilst Nantwich Town host Avro.
