Vauxhall Motors came from behind to beat Hednesford Town in Joe Heath’s first home game as interim manager.
The Motors have been aiming to adjust to life without successful boss Mick McGraa, who guided his side to a Cheshire Senior Cup Final before securing promotion.
Last time out, in Heath’s first game they were beaten thus it was nice to get the three points this time round.
Having to get used to a wet playing surface, it was The Motors that started Saturday’s game on the front foot. However, the visitors edged themselves in front on the 15th minute mark through Danny Glover.
The hosts were continuing to press their opponents defence, seeing efforts saved or cleared off the line.
They finally got the equaliser when Connor Harwood struck just before half time. It was a great ball by Ethan Gouldbourne that found the forward at the back post.
Hednesford’s team talk clearly worked as they put themselves in the lead immediately after the break.
As The Motormen were growing back into the contest the leaders were awarded a red card. Yeomans was deemed to have put a late tackle in on Michael Burkey.
Heath’s men were on top, creating opportunity after opportunity. Defender Tom Mitchell drew his side level, firing the ball into the net after Jordan Wynne hit the post.
All of the good work placed in could be celebrated at the end as creative midfielder Jordan Deer scored the winner sparking great scenes at The VanEupen Arena!
Vauxhall Motors are back in action on Tuesday night as whilst their comprehensive search for a new manager is underway, they host Crewe Alexandra in Cheshire Senior Cup Action.
