On Saturday 4th August, Vauxhall Motors FC begin a new and exciting adventure, as they play their first game back in the NWCL, now known as the Hallmark Security League. The Motormen, under the guidance of new manager Mick McGraa takes his new-look side to Derbyshire to face New Mills on the opening day of the Division One South campaign.
Three days later, on Tuesday 7th August, the Motormen play host to FC Oswestry Town back at the Syncreon Arena in their first home league game of the season. Kick-off is at 7.45pm and admission prices are 5 pounds for adults, 3 for concessions and just 1 pound for juniors, but any Vauxhall youngster who turns up in his kit, will be admitted free.
The Motormen obviously hope to get off to a very decent start and after a very encouraging pre-season programme, confidence in the camp should be good as they embark on this adventure. The Hallmark Security League Division One South stretches from the Wirral, through Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire, as well as over towards the far side of Manchester.
Vauxhall’s second home league fixture of the new season takes place on Tuesday 21st August at 7.45pm against highly regarded Wythenshawe Amateurs, who finished second in the Manchester Premier League in May.
